One good way of being involved is to join the Council for British Archaeology (CBA). The CBA publishes a magazine called British Archaeology which provides an excellent round-up of news articles, reviews, and campaigns. There is also a network of regional CBA groups which, amongst other activities, hold meetings and publish their own newsletters. The CBA and English Heritage jointly publish The Archaeology Resource Book. This provides listings of archaeological organisations and museums and outlines the role of archaeology in education. Here is the CBA site and their guide to UK Archaeology
